How to Get to Kotor Bay

So, you decided to visit the Bay of Kotor? Trust me, you won’t regret it. This is one of the most beautiful bays in the world, but it is relatively hard to find on the map. Some people may be confused about the best way to reach this destination. Below are the best tips on how to get to Kotor Bay.

Getting to Kotor Bay by plane

The easiest and fastest way to get to Kotor Bay is, of course, by plane.

Montenegro is a very mountainous country (“monte” + “negro”= “mountain”+ “black”) and the road are interesting,  but they are not very fast. If you have a lot of time to enjoy the landscape, rest often and drive slowly, I would suggest driving. Otherwise, take the advantage of our air connections.

There are three airports you can fly into when visiting Kotor Bay:

  • Tivat International Airport (in Tivat,Montenegro)

– about 5 km (3 miles) away from Kotor , about 10 min. drive

  • Pogorica International Airport  (in Podgorica, Montenegro)

– about 90 km (55 miles) away from Kotor, about 1.5 h drive

  • Dubrovnik International Airport  (in Dubrovnik, Croatia)

– 80 km (51 miles ) away from Kotor, about 1.5 h drive
